Mount Fuji on New Year (January 1, 2020)
One goal of this trip is to see Mount Fuji on New Year. From the previous day, I found Kawaguchi area a good place to do so. There was a cable car to see Fuji from a mountain, and there were still several places around to visit (however, many of them closed during new year vacations).
Take a bus from Kofu from at about 9AM
Lake Saiko (西湖)
ทะเลสาบข้างๆ Kawaguchiko มีความชุกชุมน้อยกว่า เป็นสถานที่สำหรับตั้งแคมป์
Western Lake, sometimes Saiko, is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and located in the town of Fujikawaguchiko in southern Yamanashi Prefecture near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is the fourth of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of surface area, and second deepest, with a maximum water depth of 71.1 metres. Wikipedia
One kilometer west of Lake Kawaguchiko. It is less developed. Its view of Mount Fuji is partially blocked by other mountains except at the lake’s western tip.
Comments: This might not be good place to visit unless you want go for relaxing or fishing (under sun light). There was few thing to do. And if you go on holidays, you will have problems on finding a bus to go back.
Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (河口湖 富士山パノラマロープウェイ)
to Kawaguchiko Tenjozan Park (天上山公園)
Back to the ropeway at Kawaguchiko.
The Tenjō-Yama Park Mt. Kachi Kachi Ropeway, officially the Lake Kawaguchi Mt. Tenjō Ropeway, is a Japanese aerial lift line in Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi, operated by Fuji Kyuko. Opened in 1959, the line climbs Mount Tenjō from the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, one of the Fuji Five Lakes. Wikipedia
To ride, you would get a queue ticket and might have to wait for hours. There’s a voice announcement and a website to check the queue. There were several shops, but most restaurants closed during new year vacations.
Rinsaku park and Rinsaku Kajiwara statue (this park and land is due to donation of Rinsaku Kajiwara born in this district)
